The memories ease the pain inside
Now I now why
Appearance:
You remember the flash of dark tabby fur; the sound of pounding paws, the slash of long claws. Your memories of the she-cat are hazy; but you are able to remember them for a moment.
Her fur was brown; the color of the bark of a oak tree. Long, almost black, stripes slice across her lean body, like lighting forking at the night sky. Her muzzle is white, along with her paws and underside. To top it off, her long tail, raised high above her head, the top kinked, is the color of her stripes; nothing more. But then you recall, something that you most regret; her amber eyes. They shine like two burning coals, gazing at through your soul. The she-cat looks through you...not at you.
You recall more details as you think harder.
The she-cat was meant for speed. Her shoulders lean, her legs long, her muzzle slim, her paws, narrow. Her long tail allowed her to keep her balance when walking in tight spaces, turning sharply when running, chasing prey...and chasing enemies. But muscles rippled underneath her shinning coat; she was not to be underestimated in a fight.
And it is then that your memory fades, leaving only one word left in your head.
The she-cat's name...
Darktail.
All of my memories keep you near
In silent moments, imagine you'd be here
All of my memories keep you near
Your silent whispers, silent tears
Personality:
Lightning is a complicated thing. It only appears for a moment, then vanishes, leaving only the distant rumble of thunder. Against the night sky, its glory is amazing, lighting up the heavens just as if it were day, leaving its viewers to think of theories; where did it come from? What is it? Where will it strike next?
It is easy to compare lightning against the night sky to Darktail.
The she-cat has a darker personality, like the black sky. She wades through blood to achieve almost anything; territory, rank...
Darktail likes fighting; she keeps her claws sharp, and often will watch the clan through narrowed amber eyes in the shade of a tree. The she-cat seems not to like kits; she claims she finds them annoying, batting leaves across camp, squealing. Darktail lashes out at any cat that dares show her disrespect. She shows no interest in a mate, as she seems to find it a waste of time, showing affection. Her hate for foxes is strong, if one dares cross her path, she won't only try to drive it away, but kill it.
But every once in a while, if you are lucky, you will catch some of the she-cat's softer side; the lightning against a dark sky. Her soft side is kind, but fiercely protective of all cats in her clan, much like a mother's love for her kits. This side shows most often in a battle, when her clanmates are in danger. Other times, it shows at random. She will act motherly over all in the clan, and sometimes, play with kits outside he nursery. This is when her good quailites of a leader show; Darktail refuses to take part in meaningless bloodshed when her softside is displayed.
But Darktail is a very solitary cat; if she is caught while showing her soft side in front of cats, it will change quickly to a horrible rage, much like the thunder after a bright flash of lightning.
But Darktail is just misunderstood.
Many take her as a harsh she-cat, feeling not much toward any cat.
But they are wrong.
Darktail has a glorious heart, but many things hold her back. But maybe one day, some cat will discover what lies beneath the darkness, and bring Darktail back out from the shadows.
Together in all these memories
I see your smile
All the memories I hold dear
Darling, you know I'll love you till the end of time
History: Darktail was born into the clan one cold leaf-bare. Her mother, Dappledflower, was having a hard time feeding her kit, even through there was only one. Luckily, Dark-kit survived the harsh weather, and when she was four moons old, she proved herself to be a adventurous, compassionate kit. Dark-kit tried to follow countless patrols out of camp, but each time she was caught, except for once. She followed the dawn patrol. When the patrol met a fox, Dark-kit tried to help fight, but her ears were torn beyond repair. She was taken back to camp by the warriors after they had chased away the fox, and kept in the medicine cat den for three days.
As time wore on, Dark-kit became an apprentice. Her name went to Darkpaw, and her mentor, Nightfang, was a one of the clans finest warriors. Darkpaw and Nightfang were very close; Nightfang took special care that his apprentice was the best, and trained her hard. One day, however, the two were sent on a hunting patrol with Darkpaw's father Swiftfoot. The three cats were having a good time; they all caught plenty of prey, but on the way back to camp, a fox attacked the warriors. It was the same fox that had attacked Darkpaw long ago. The three cats fought the fox bravely and drove it from the territory, but Swiftfoot was wounded badly, and died in a day later.
Dappledflower and Darkpaw were miserable. However, Dappledflower was becoming quite plump; she was expecting kits. This news made Darkpaw happy, and brought her out of a depression that had lingered over her since her fathers death. Then, a few moons later, Darkpaw was made a warrior, after she drove a rouge from the territory. She became Darktail, in honor of her almost black tail. On the night of her vigil, Dappledflower bore her kits, but died giving birth. Her three kits died the next day.
Darktail was distraught. Her mother, her father, and her younger brothers and sister, dead. The cat's in the clan noticed that Darktail was changing. She slowly went from a happy cat, to a cold-hearted warrior. The only thing that made her happy was Nightfang. And with a strange realization, she realized she loved her former mentor. Nightfang returned her affections.
Leaf-bare came around again, and Nightfang became sick. It started as white-cough, but then worse, and became green-cough. Darktail paced for hours outside the medicine cat den, her amber eyes clouded with worry. But much to Darktail's horror, Nightfang joined StarClan during the night. Darktail's misery was complete. She slipped into darkness.
Unfortunately, the deputy died a few days later. Much to her surprise, Darktail was made deputy in the others place. It was then she felt the burning desire to protect her clan. She feared that if she didn't, they would slip away, just as so many others close to her had.

Roleplay Example: Night had fallen over CloudClan territory. Darktail was restless; she had slipped out of camp for a night hunt. Her sleek dark tabby fur shone in the light of the crescent moon, and her amber eyes were yellow slits. Her jaws were opened slightly, drawing in the scents of the forest. The she-cat slipped through the trees, her almost black tail lifted just above the ground. Her torn ears swiveled around like radars, picking up any sound. Unfortunately, the only scents Darktail was getting was the trees, and the wild places of the night. But her luck turned when the reek of rabbit drifted into her nose. She veered left, startling the rabbit, sending it bounding away. She gave chase, her muscles moving smoothly under her glossy pelt. The rabbit streaked ahead, trying to avoid the predator. But Darktail was to swift for it. She leaped forward, and landed squarely on it's back. She killed it with a quick bite to the neck, and carried it towards camp, triumphant.
All of my memories!
