Name: Rainkit, Rainpaw, Rainpelt, Rainstar Age: 41 moons Rank: Leader Clan: Cloudclan Gender: Tom
Short Description: A lithe gray tom with green eyes. Appearance: Rainstar was built for speed. That much is utterly obvious in his genetic makeup. The first that might be clue to this is his very long legs, thin, yet hardened with muscles. They hold his frame up like he's walking on stilts, and this gives him a graceful, fluid gait, though it's a bit odd to behold. His frame is built with thin bones, and this gives him a very lithe, and skinny look about him, though he's packed with hard muscles. Rainstar's tail is long and thin, trailing out behind him like a flag, though it also helps him keep his balance, adding to his astounding agility. The gray tom's paws are small, and dainty in build, allowing to sprint without even the slightest noise.
His face is highly angled, with a shorter muzzle, and larger, rabbit-like ears. Rainstar's nose is a dark gray, blending with his fur, and his white whiskers are very long. His eyes are rounder than most cats, but much, much more beautiful. For the most part, they look like a deep green. But from some angles in certain lighting, the green orbs appear slightly yellow, or that they contain a ring of russet color. For the most part, though, they appear a deep green, hinting to gray around the edges.
Adorning his lithe frame, the tom's fur is a dark gray. His fur is the same shade of darker gray the whole way through his pelt, besides on small mar of white on his chest. It's just a white splotch, nothing that special. Rainstar's fur is short, but still on the softer, thicker side, protecting him from many a cold night. Altogether, Rainstar certainly isn't the most handsome of the lot, but he's not hideous either. Nothing really special. Personality:Mild in temperament, Rainstar is reasonable and rational. He does not like to run into things without first thinking them through. Why be rash and irrational when you could think things through first? Rainstar is moderately friendly, and will listen to explanations, though he's not soft, in any way. He rules with an iron fist, all punishments well thought out, and just, though not very enjoyable. He will not tolerate breaking of the warrior code, or cats that disobey them.
Rainstar has a commanding essence. His charisma just radiates from his gray body. It's no wonder he became leader... His wisdom, fairness, and overall personality is tied around his tail, where everyone can see. Not only does Rainstar have charisma, he has a silver tongue. His way with words could get him to Starclan if he wanted. He can twist words, manipulate others, and give a purely moving speech. It's his greatest, most prized talent that he holds before all else.
Rainstar has one major issue... He's very, very loyal. You may wonder how this is a setback. Well... He can't lie to those he loves, ever... It's not possible for him, it's against every fiber in his being. And, he would easily die for his clan. This is an issue, seeing as he is clearly not as expendable as one measly apprentice... But he thinks he is. And this causes him to risk his life more than he should, despite his calm state of mind. And there's one more flaw to Rainstar's character... He doesn't do well under pressure. He doesn't do well at all. Oh, he can pretend alright, but not successfully, and as the weight is dropped down upon him, a piece inside him shatters, every time. Likes:- Rain, storms, bad weather in general.
- Challenges of any sort.
- Contemplating unanswered questions.
Dislikes:- Blistering hot weather.
- Rash young warriors.
- Pressure.
Kin: Snowheart Parents: Gorsefang and Pinefur. Crush/Mate: None Kits: None
History: Rainstar was born to two loving, caring parents. His mother, Pinefur, was a sweet little white she-cat, loved by all. And his father, Gorsefang, was a large grey tom, a tough, respected senior warrior. Rainkit was born to a litter of 3, him, his sister Snowkit, and a stillborn brother. Snowkit was always the sweetie of the litter, and Rainkit was her protective older brother.
At the age of 6 moons, the siblings were apprenticed. Snowpaw was given to Smokestorm, a highly skilled young tom, and Rainpaw was given to Voleclaw, a grumpy old she-cat. You can imagine Rainpaw's disappointment. But Snowpaw never excelled at anything but fighting, and Rainpaw was well balanced in most areas. The apprentices graduated to warrior-hood quickly and with flying colors.
As warriors, the two, Rainpelt and Snowheart became rather distant, Rainpelt becoming more acquainted with the senior warriors, and current deputy, and Snowheart spending most of her time hunting and sharing tongues with her friends. Soon, the old leader, Mintstar, passed away, leaving Spottedstar to lead. The former deputy appointed Rainpelt in her former place, and the gray tom took the spot of deputy. But Spottedstar was not meant to be Cloudclan leader... The cards of fate were stacked against her.
Only two moons after she came to leadership, the enchanting spotted she-cat caught Greencough, and perished in the night. No one was sure as to why the sickness had claimed all of her nine lives... They only knew that it had. And so, Rainpelt became Rainstar. He became leader at 29 moons, a very young age, and has been leader for around 12 moons. Nothing much eventful that you won't already know after that. In Character Roleplay:A grey tom twined his tail with the she-cay beside him, eyes full of concealed worry. The she-cat was enchanting... Tawny with black spots marring her perfect fur. And she had the air of leadership... Though her body looked frail. A cough racked her withering body, and the she-cat gave a feeble moan. The tom beside her licked her ear, whispering into it. "It's okay, Spottedstar, you're going to be alright." His voice was faintly frightened, though an undertone of unconditional loyalty could be detected.
It was unclear as to whether the tom thought of the she-cat as a friend, leader, mate, or all of them. The clearly sick she-cat twisted her head to speak to him, her voice rough and cracked. "Rainpelt... Embrace the life I couldn't have... For you are Rainstar." With this the leader gave a choking cough, and the life at last ebbed from her body. Rainpelt looked at his leader, horrified, the tom's eyes waiting for his leader to get up, and recover. She would lose a life... But only one. So she'd be fine... Right? Right? He asked himself this question over and over as the time passed, and Spottedstar did not get up.
Rainpelt was so shocked, that some part of his brain shut down for the time being. He didn't even realize when the medicine cat, Ashfeather, came in. He only noticed when she tapped him on the shoulder. "Rainpelt... She's gone." The gray tom looked up, bewildered. "But... Ashfeather... That's not possible. She had 9 lives!" His face was contorted in anguish, nose wrinkled, ears pricked back, eyes wide. The plump she-cat seemed just as alarmed. "Starclan works in strange ways, Rainpelt. But I'll tell you something I've told no other soul." She took a deep breath.
"She never had 9 lives to begin with..." The medicine cat's grave expression told Rainpelt that she meant the truth. "I'm not sure... Why... But I know that Starclan prevented her from receiving them. It was a horrible blow to her... But she took it in stride... It was obvious that Starclan did not perceive her to be the right leader for Cloudclan." Turning her black head, the older cat spoke again. "I expect you to leave now to get your name and lives. I'll explain the the clan." She flicked her tail sharply at a pile of bitter smelling herbs. "Eat them before you go." And with that, she turned and left, leaving him with Spottedstar's body.
