Maybe you've wondered why exactly the Healer of the Tribe of Gusting Wind is called Teller of the Frozen Tree, or Treeteller. Well, here I am to tell you the story. -puts on epic, over-dramatic storytelling voice-
The Frozen Tree is a very sacred thing to the Tribe. Or was. Mayhap it was crushed or broken by the avalanche. Let's say it didn't, that it still stands there. BUT ANYWAYS. It was located just outside the cave where the Tribe made their home. It stood tall, and it would tower over any other tree in the mountains, if you could find them...the branches stretched out far and it was so deeply rooted that not even the strongest of blizzards could uproot it. But the tree was not alive. Rather, it was a dead tree, old and scarred. But so tough was the bark, now blackened and hard, so deep were the roots, that after it died from a bitter frost it continued to stand, just where it always had. Since then, it has been covered by a layer of ice and frost, forever frozen. Occasionally some of the ice would melt, dripping down and forming puddles on the ground below. It was then that the Teller of the Frozen Tree would gaze down at the base of the tree, reading the signs in the puddles sent by the Tribe of Endless Hunting.
And so it had stood before, past Healers reading and interpreting, way back to when the ancient, noble tree was still alive, even. And so it stands now, alone in the frigid mountains, waiting for another Healer to come and read the puddles they form.

Wow...this is very interesting. Has the Tribe found a new place to communicate with their ancestors yet? Or will they share the place that CloudClan uses, for I assume CloudClan has one.

They haven't found one yet. And, I think (Anika should check this; I don't have the books) that Tribe cats get /signs/ more than actual dreams, so maybe the Moonfalls wouldn't work for them? I'm not sure.

That's correct. Stoneteller said that he doesn't communicate with TEH through dreams, but read signs instead.

But...he COULD, I'm just saying. When Jayfeather went to the Cave of Pointed Stones, he visited TEH in a dream.

In that same book, Stoneteller spoke to TEH in a dream. But I quote from Dawn: pg. 305 " "Do you share dreams with your ancestors?" Cinderpelt asked. "Share dreams?" he [Stoneteller] echoed. "No, I interpret the signs of rock and leaf and water, and know that this is the voice of the Tribe of Endless Hunting." "
EDIT; Rofl months later edit because I spelled "book" "boo"
