When the Tribe of Gusting Wind is forced out of its old home in the mountains, the nearby CloudClan, which has been isolated until now, is willing to give them shelter. But as resources become uncomfortably tight for the usually competition-less Clan, and their new neighbors refuse to leave because of seemingly minor shortages, CloudClan realizes that difficult choices are appearing before it. There are few cats who have not already made friends with the Tribe, and neither group is capable of driving the other out, physically or mentally. But CloudClan has forgotten much of what it means to be a Clan in its isolation, and as they are reminded of it by StarClan, they find that they must set up boundaries against their newest allies and treat them as an equal Clan. But the Tribe sees otherwise, and is not taking part. With two sets of beliefs from two different kinds of cats clashing, only those with the most gifted paws will be able to separate out how it will end.
